Project Description

The most recent phase of development at Rudding Park in Harrogate comprised the construction of a bespoke, expanded spa facility which recaptures Harrogate’s historic spa heritage using natural spring water from the grounds of the estate. Set over three floors the Spa features an exceptional quality 17m swimming pool, together with an extensive range of hydrotherapy and thermotherapy experiences, eleven treatment rooms with four mind and sense zones in which guests can relax following a treatment, 3 AA Rosette Horto restaurant and a lifestyle and gifting shop, aptly named ‘Retail Therapy’. Construction works undertaken as part of the project also included the reconfiguration of the goods yard and servicing areas along with extensive remodelling of the grounds and gardens in the area immediately surrounding the Spa.

The project was delivered over several phases so as to minimise the impact of the existing hotel accommodation and was completed by Henry Boot Construction Ltd of Sheffield with preparatory works having been undertaken by locally based HACS Construction Ltd. RBA provided project management and quantity surveying services on all phases of the development, ensuring best value procurement and offering, programme management and phasing advice.
