Project Description

The project comprised strip out and full refurbishment of existing accommodation over 4 floors to provide approximately 35,000 sq ft of biology laboratory suites (of varying sizes) with associated write up space.

The scheme included a complex strip out together with extensive asbestos removal. Works also included significant structural amendments and enhancements to meet current regulations, with all works needing to be carried out sensitively to respect adjoining customers and other sensitive receptors.

Works also included full lift refurbishment and provision of glazed feature entrance/ reception providing prominence from the main site pedestrian route.

Following completion of the “Cat A” speculative development, much of the space was fit out for customer Medicines Discovery Catapult as a Lighthouse Laboratory – playing a key roles in the UK Government’s national COVID testing programme.
